Overall values are based upon a multiplier for each individual criteria. This is because not every course is created equal and not where some flounder, others flourish.

This is simple enough, but it gets complicated on how to score these items in an unbiased manner… Each category is scored 0-10 based upon the specific requirements/conditions listed below.
Course Quality (0.15x) - All separate items indicated below are summed.
Teebox: Uneven and poor condition = 0, Mostly even and well cut= 1, Completely defined and flat, minimal divoting = 2
Fairways: Dry/poorly maintained = 0, Somewhat even and well maintained= 1, All same length and no dead patches = 2
Rough: Unmitigated disaster = 0, Maintained/clear fairway separation = 1, First cut divides fairway and even rough = 2
Bunkers: Overgrown/rocky sand = 0, Groomed but inconsistent sand = 1, Defined edges with even sand depth = 2
Greens: Any dead patches = 0, Somewhat even and patterns to read = 1, Rolled, even cut and very well cut fringe = 2
Course Design (0.15x) -
Little to no architectural elements each hole is very straightforward = 0
25% of the course requires strategic shots (ex. drivable par 4 is a risk reward) = 2.5
40% of the course requires strategic shots (ex. all par 3’s have forced carry) = 5
70% of the course requires strategic shots (ex. most holes have strategic bunker/hazards) = 7.5
>90% of shots require strategic play (ex. all of the above and greens have false front/back) = 10
Round Price (0.125x) - $36 weekend green fee to 18 walk (Base score = 8) $5 discount = +0.5 (i.e. $21 = 9.5)

Minimal to no scenery = 0 Several holes w/ landscape between holes = 2.5
Signature hole w/ landscape between 1/2 holes = 5 Picturesque holes w/ landscape views on most holes = 7.5
Beautiful views everywhere on the course = 10
Practice Area (0.1x) - All separate items indicated below are summed.
Baseline Scoring: Limited distance/mats/range balls = 1.5 Putting green = 1.0 Chipping area = 1.0 Sand area = 1.0
Enhanced Scoring: Full range (10+ stalls) = 3 Premium Balls = 1 Large putting green (undulating with 8+ holes) = 2
Dedicated well cut chipping area = 2 Bunker area either one large or multiple well groomed = 2
Course Rank/Tournament Hosting (0.1x) -

Replay-ability (0.075x) - Personal Gut check
One of the first places I would look to play If I am in this area again = 9 - 10
“Second Tier” if first option isn't available while I am there = 6.5 - 8.5
Would happily play again if timing worked out, but wouldn’t be desperate to play again = 4.5 - 6
Open to trying again if I was on the fence about the course during a prior round = 2 - 4
